The pool side located at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is set to close for several weeks beginning in January 2023.
The Polynesian's Lava Pool side will be closed beginning on January 3, 2023. Work is expected to take about 4-5 weeks with the slide reopening in early February.
This closure impacts only the slide itself. The Lava Pool will remain open to guests, as will the resort's Oasis Pool.
Winter months are a popular time for pool and slide refurbishments due to the often unfavorable weather conditions. High Rock Spring pool at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is scheduled to close in January, as is the main pool at Disney's Contemporary Resort.
