Work begins soon at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows with the front desk temporarily relocated starting next week and the monorail station closing in November.
Beginning September 28, 2020, portions of the Polynesian's Great Ceremonial House will close for refurbishment. The front desk will temporarily relocate to the Pago Pago building adjacent to the self-parking lot. The main entrance to the lobby, and portions of the lobby itself, will be inaccessible during construction.
Rear entrances to the building will remain open. Kona Cafe, Moana Mercantile, Pineapple Lanai and Tambu Lounge will continute to operate, though hours may be adjusted.
The Great Ceremonial House is expected to close around 10pm Sunday through Thursday while work is conducted during the overnight hours.
The resort's monorail station will close November 2, 2020. No reopening timeline has been published. During the closure, guests are encouraged to use the eastern walking path to the Transportation and Ticket Center for access to the Magic Kingdom via monorail or ferry. Bus transportation will be provided to other locations.
Disney Vacation Club villas are currently open and will continue to operate. Hotel rooms will be refurbished in the coming months, and are not scheduled to reopen until summer 2021.
