The Lava Pool located at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is currently closed for a brief refurbishment.
Back in December we reported on the winter closure of the Polynesian's Lava Pool. At the time there was no known end date for the project. Fortunately the downtime appears to be rather brief.
As expected, the pool closed on Monday, February 5, 2018. The Lava Pool, waterslide and other amenities are currently unavailable to resort guests including Disney Vacation Club members.
Steve "Tikiman" Seifert of Tikimanpages.com claims that the closure is scheduled to last only through Thursday, February 15, with the pool reopening on February 16, 2018.
Please note that refurbishment dates are estimates only and the project may run longer than anticipated.
The Polynesian's Oasis Pool remains available while the Lava Pool is closed. It does not appear that Polynesian guests were granted access to another resort feature pool during this closure. The Beach Pool at neighboring Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is also currently closed for maintenance.
Disney Vacation Club members may pool hop to select resorts during non-blockout periods, including the main pool at Disney's Contemporary Resort.
