The main pool at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows will close for a period of time beginning in February 2018.
Disney has informed registered guests that the Polynesian's Lava Pool will close for maintenance in early 2018. Signs point toward the closure beginning on February 5, however at this time there is no clear indication as to how long it will last.
The resort's Oasis Pool will remain available to guests during the closure.
The neighboring Beach Pool at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will also be closed during this same period. The Grand Floridian's closure is scheduled to begin January 2 and run at least into April.
It is not known if Disney plans to make other accommodations for guests unable to use either of these feature pools. In the past, Disney has allowed pool hopping to neighboring resorts and/or provided complimentary waterpark access. The main pool at Disney's Contemporary Resort is available for pool hopping by Disney Vacation Club members, except during established blockout periods.
Winter months are a popular time for maintenance on resort pools due to the cooler weather conditions.
