Disney has confirmed that the life size gingerbread house will not be making an appearance this year at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Earlier this week, Walt Disney World began to share details on its holiday displays for 2026. Absent was any mention of the Grand Floridian's iconic gingerbread house. Disney later confirmed that the massive confection will not return this holiday season, and will instead be replaced by smaller gingerbread displays:

"This holiday season at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Guests can enjoy elegant seasonal décor and festive offerings, along with new miniature gingerbread displays featured throughout the Resort. To help keep the lobby flowing smoothly for Resort Guests, the traditional large gingerbread house will not be offered this year."

The gingerbread house was ruled out for holiday 2025 due to construction work throughout the resort's lobby. At the time, Disney did not suggest that the move was permanent, and even this statement does not rule out the possibility of a future return. However, the gingerbread house had become a very polarizing holiday display, attracting large crowds for over 2 months and overwhelming the resort's lobby and transportation.

Smaller gingerbread house displays have previously been located in the lobby of the Grand Floridian's Disney Vacation Club building (above.)

Holiday displays can be found at a variety of Disney resorts including the carousel at Disney's Beach Club Resort and various smaller-scale gingerbread displays at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney's BoardWalk Inn & Villas

Resort holiday decor begins to appear around the start of November and lasts into the new year.
