The original Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge has been renamed Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Keeping to its word, Disney plans to leverage distinctiveness of the Boulder Ridge name throughout renovations to the property.

The new zero entry pool is desiged to emulate the appearance of an abandoned rock quarry. Keeping with the resort's Pacific Northwest theme, design elements will reflect the manner in which elements from the Transcontinental Railroad were repurposed by members of the community. Within the pool stands a water tower left over from the "Boulder Ridge Railway and Mining Co." Mine carts and other elements will help support the new theme.
