Permit Filed to Remove Reflections Construction Trailers

Another nail has seemingly been driven into the coffin of a once-promising Disney Vacation Club resort.

Permits have been filed with Orange County, Florida to "[r]emove office trailers from property." Three trailer addresses are cited, all with addresses on World Drive within the city of Bay Lake.

According to WDW News Today, these trailers served as office space for crews leading  the contruction effort on Reflections - A Disney Lakeside Lodge

This is the latest in a series of moves suggesting that the Reflections project has been abandoned--or indefinitely delayed--in the wake of COVID-19. In June 2020, overhead images of the Reflections site indicated that most heavy equipment had been removed. Despite the fact that significant ground clearing work had been completed, it appeared that the area was recently covered with grass seed to prevent soil erosion.

Months later, all publicity information regarding Reflections was removed from Disney websites. This includes images released during the 2019 D23 Expo, depicting stilted treehouse-type bungalows and a "Princess and the Frog" themed restaurant.

Disney Vacation Club has never publicly commented on the status of the project, however during the December 2020 Condominium Assocation Meeting, only an addition to Disneyland Hotel was touted as a current project.

Reflections was originally targeted for completion in 2022. Disney Vacation Club point sales have been slowed by the COVID-19 pandemic. While sales have gradually improved in recent months, fewer than 30% of the points have been sold in DVC's newest property, Disney's Riviera Resort
