Familiar amenities at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort will soon begin to close as the massive resort upgrade commences.
Located near the resort's feature pool, Centertown is home to a collection of restaurants and shops available to resort guests.
In late-April 2017, most of those amenities will be closing as major renovations begin around the resort. Among the closures are the Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters at Old Port Royale, Banana Cabana Pool Bar, and Calypso Trading Post.
The closure date for Old Port Royale and Shutters is reportedly April 27.
Replacement dining options will be made available to guests on a temporary basis. A limited selection of freshly-prepared meals will be offered a Centertown while the resort's three island markets will offer grab-and-go meals.
Permits have been filed for renovations and upgrades throughout Caribbean Beach resort, including the Centertown area depicted above. Several resort buildings will be demolished to make way for a larger facility which may house Disney Vacation Club villas. Information also suggests a new gondola-based transportation system linking Caribbean Beach to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
