Hollywood Studios Adds Extended Evening Hours

WDW Vacation Planning News

The after-hours perk for guests staying at Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts has added a new theme park while (perhaps) eliminating another.

In mid-April, Disney's Hollywood Studios will host Extended Evening Hours for the first time since the perk's debut in October 2021. The park will remain open from 9:00 to 11:00pm on Wednesday, April 13, exclusively for eligible guests. However, this leaves Magic Kingdom without Extended Evening Hours that week, raising some questions about Disney's long term plans.

With one or two exceptions, Disney has been offering the late night hours at EPCOT on Monday evenings and Magic Kingdom on Wednesdays. For the month of April, the schedule currently reads as follows:

  • Monday, April 4: EPCOT 9 - 11pm
  • Wednesday, April 6: Magic Kingdom 9 - 11pm
  • Monday, April 11: EPCOT 9 - 11pm
  • Wednesday, April 13: Hollywood Studios 9 - 11pm

Park hours have not currently been released beyond Saturday, April 16. In 2022, Easter falls on Sunday, April 17. The two weeks surrounding Easter are typically among the busiest of the year at Walt Disney World. As the operating schedule is extended in the coming weeks, we will learn more about how Disney plans to juggle the Extended Evening Hours schedule among the parks.

Guests staying at Disney Vacation Club resorts and Disney Deluxe resorts are eligible to participate in Extended Evening Hours at no additional cost. The perk provides access to most theme park attractions with smaller crowds and shorter wait times. A list of eligible resorts and attractions can be found here, although it has not yet been updated to include Disney's Hollywood Studios

Theme park admission is required. Disney has committed to keeping the perk in place through the 50th anniversary celebration.
