Early Entry Temporarily Enhanced; Extended Evening Parks Briefly Swap

WDW Vacation Planning News

Walt Disney World's Early Entry perk for resort guests receives a boost over the holiday season, while the Extended Evening Hours swap parks for one week in Feburary 2022.

Walt Disney World's early entry perk allows guests staying at select Disney-owned and partner resorts--including all of the central Florida Disney Vacation Club locations--to begin enjoying most theme park attractions 30 minutes before the published opening time. A 9:00am opening time at the Magic Kingdom means that Disney resort guests can take their first spin on Dumbo the Flying Elephant as early at 8:30am.

However, from December 19, 2021 through January 2, 2022, the early entry perk is being extended to a full hour. Park admission media--including MagicBands--will be scanned upon arrival to confirm eligibility.

Park gates typically open around 30 minutes prior to the early entry time, allowing guests to begin queuing at their favorite attractions.

Meanwhile Disney Deluxe resort guests--which again includes all of the DVC properties at Walt Disney World--can currently take advantage of Extended Evening Hours at two theme parks. The perk is typically scheduled for Monday nights at EPCOT and Wednesdays at Magic Kingdom, allowing Deluxe resort guests to enjoy 2 hours of additional time beyond the published closing.

However, during the week of February 21, 2022, the park schedule has been reversed with Magic Kingdom hosting the event on Monday 2/21 and EPCOT on Wednesday, 2/23.

The schedule returns to its usual pattern the following week with EPCOT hosting extended evening hours on Monday and Magic Kingdom on Wednesday.

Note that operating schedules are always subject to change. Guests should refer to the offical WDW operating calendar for the most up-to-date information.
