Effective July 30, 2021, Walt Disney World guests are required to wear approved facial coverings indoors regardless of their vaccination status.
The change returns conditions to early June conditions, which require masks in all indoor areas including attractions, resort hotels, stores and Walt Disney World transportation. Masks are not required in outdoor areas.
The complete policy reads as follows:
Beginning July 30, face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) while indoors and in Disney buses, monorail and Disney Skyliner, regardless of vaccination status. This includes upon entering and throughout all attractions. Face coverings remain optional for all Guests in outdoor common areas.
Disney's acceptable mask criteria remains unchanged, requiring that they cover the nose and mouth, fit snugly against the face and do not contain any valves, holes or mesh material.

The move comes as the state of Florida--and Orange County in particular--has experienced a spike in new cases of COVID-19. Recent data shows a positivity rate over 14% for the county, while area ICUs are operating at capacity. On Wednesday, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings declared a state of emergency and urged businesses to require masks for employees and customers. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has opposed broad mask mandates, recently vowing legal action against state school districts attempting to require facial coverings.
