Disney Releases Guidelines for Annual Pass Credit

Disney recently shared new details regarding refund or extension of current Annual Passes for Disneyland and Walt Disney World

Disney California Adventure

Due to the COVID-19 induced closure of U.S. theme parks, Disney has made the unprecidented move of offering extensions and partial refunds to current Annual Passholders. Passholders who take no action will have their ending date automatically updated once a reopening date has been established. All passes will be extended for the total duration of the closure.

Alternatively, Passholders may request a partial refund for the closure period. The refund is equivalent to the number of days the parks remain closed, thus the value cannot be determined or refunded until parks have reopened. A closure of exactly 2 months would result in a refund equal to 2/12 or about 17% of the pass value. The pass will then retain its original expiration date.

Passholders who are part of a monthly payment plan--an option not currently available to out-of-state Disney Vacation Club members--have had their monthly payments paused. Payments will resume after the parks reopen with no change in the pass end date.

The full statement issued to Walt Disney World Passholders follows:

This is a truly unprecedented time for all of us, and we want to thank you for your patience as we work through the many details related to the temporary closure of the theme parks. We recognize this may be a challenging time, so we wanted to share how we will assist our Annual Passholders.

Active Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passes that have been paid in full will be extended for the number of days the parks are closed. The new expiration date will be reflected on the Annual Passholder’s account prior to the reopening of the theme parks.

As an alternative, and in lieu of an extension of their passes, Passholders who have paid in full may choose to receive a partial refund for the theme park closure period. To request this alternative option, we ask that you contact V.I.PASSHOLDER Support at (407) 939-7277. We do anticipate heavy call volume and appreciate your patience as we answer all inquiries.
