Today representatives from The Walt Disney Company shared their resort plans with Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann. Among the details revealed for the first time are the make-up of the new resort--350 hotel rooms and 480 Disney Vacation Club villas.

The combined resort hotel / timeshare is being constructed on 21 acres of beachfront property located in the Ko Olina area on the western side of Oahu.
A report in Pacific Business News provides additional details on the development:
The resort will feature two towers, gardens, pools, water slides, a fake volcano caldera, spa, banquet and meeting space, and wedding facilities.
Disney characters will also have a visible presence at the resort.
The resort, which was initially announced more than 12 months ago, remains on-target to open in 2011. Groundbreaking is expected to occur sometime in the next several weeks.
