Disney has released two pieces of concept artwork for the expansion planned for Aulani's main pool.

In July 2012 Disney revealed plans to expand the Waikolohe Valley pool at Disney's Aulani resort in Hawai'i. Plans include the addition of a themed family pool, splash zone and two new quick service dining locations.

The pool expansion will run to the edge of Disney property. Planned features include a misty grotto, glimmering lights on the pool sides and bottom which are visible after dark, a splash zone with rainbow water jets and Menehune figurines as well as additional deck space for lounge chairs and cabanas.
One of the new dining locations will feature a continental breakfast and sandwiches while the other beachside location offers grab-and-go snacks.
Work on the new additions is scheduled for September 2012 through mid-2013.
