The official Disney Parks Blog has been busy promoting Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa. Recent blog entries have shed new light on resort restaurant offerings and several guest activities.
First up a look at Rainbow Reef, Aulani's 3,000 square foot snorkeling lagoon.
Next is a look at buffet and character dining planned for Aulani. Makahiki--Bounty of the Islands is open daily serving breakfast and dinner. The breakfast features a selection of western standards (eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, waffles) as well as a Chinese / Japanese buffet (dim sum, crispy dough, wok fried noodles.)
The dinner buffet focuses on sustainable local fish, fresh salads, a rotating carving station and a number of Asian-inspired dishes.
Those looking for Disney characters will want to plan for Aunty's Breakfast Celebration at the Makahiki on Saturday, Sunday or Wednesday.
For additional details see Where to Find Disney Characters and Buffet Dining at Aulani at the Disney Parks Blog.
Finally, a little bit about taro--the ingredient used to make island staple poi. With a taro patch just outside the resort's main entrance, guest will be able to experience plant harvesting and poi-making first hand.
