During a recent Disney Vacation Club member update aboard the Disney Wonder, veteran DVC Guide Dave Kreutzer shared some interesting information regarding Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa.
As with other recent resort developments, it turns out there is a Founding Member perk available to existing members adding points at Aulani. The first 800 members who add-on 160 or more points will receive a personally engraved tile on one of four statues located in the resort courytard. The tile will contain the member's name and a brief personal message.
Approximately 650 buyers have already been classified as Founding Members, leaving only 150 or so slots for additional buyers.
Also discussed was the sales center DVC recently opened at Tokyo Disneyland. Hawai'i is a popular vacation destination for the Japanese and a strong response from that market is considered essential to the success of Aulani.
According to Kreutzer, the response to Aulani has been so overwhelming that there is currently a two week waiting list to tour the model rooms and attend a presentation at the Tokoy Disneyland sales center.
Disney cruises are known for offering added incentives or discounts on Disney Vacation Club add-on purchases. This voyage was no different. During the November 11, 2010 sailing on the Disney Wonder, DVC offered a $500 stateroom credit to those adding 160 or more points at Aulani. This added incentive was in addition to the current base discounts of $12-18 per point.
