Disney Vacation Club Relaxes Point Transfer Rules

DVC Policies & Procedures

Disney Vacation Club owners now have more flexibility to manage their points including the ability to transfer both banked and borrowed points.

Disney Vacation Club typically makes subtle updates to its policies and procedures on an annual basis, publishing addendums to the Public Offering Statements listing these changes. The December 2024 update to the Multi-Site Public Offering Statement includes wholesale changes to the section on transferring of points. The original passage, which still exists in the master Multi-Site POS, read as follows:

"Banked or Borrowed Home Resort Vacation Points may not be Transferred."

The updated language in the Multi-Site POS Addendum now states:

"Allotted, Banked, Borrowed, Reservation, and Holding Home Resort Vacation Points may be Transferred."

Other terms of the section are largely unchanged. Members are still listed to just one transfer per Use Year, moving points either in or out of the account. Points retain their original Home resort and expiration dates. Transferred points may themselves be banked or borrowed by the recipient.

Informally, DVC has historically allowed greater point management flexibiity between multiple memberships with a common owner.

Also noted in the new insert is the addition of Disney Lakeshore Lodge as an upcoming Disney Vacation Club destination. The updated language can be found in the Multi-Site Public Offering Statement Insert dated December 2024. The master Multi-Site POS is expected to be updated sometime in 2025 to include all of the revised language.

Separate inserts were released for each of the Disney Vacation Club resorts in December 2024. These documents are typically linked to members' accounts on the offical DVC website for resorts which they own. Links to all of the POS inserts and other documents like 2025 annual dues statements, restaurant menus and more can be found on each Resort Information page (example) here at DVCNews.com
