DVC debuts "Introduce-A-Friend"

DVC Policies & Procedures

Disney Vacation Club has created a new method for referring friends and family members to the Disney timeshare program...sadly with no tangible benefits for the referrer.

A new feature has been added to DVCMember.com:  Introduce-A-Friend.

The page allows current members to complete a brief questionairre regarding their friend's vacation habits and family make-up.  Among the questions are "does your friend have any children or grandchildren" and "does your friend prefer Disney vacations only or Disney vacations and other vacation destinations?"  A DVC sales rep will then reach-out to the prospective member, armed with some basic information to customize their sales pitch.

Introduce A Friend

Unfortunately there does not appear to be any direct benefit to the member for submitting these referrals--even if the referred individual spends upward of $20,000 on a Disney Vacation Club purchase.

For many years, DVC offered referral rewards to members living in eligible regions.  Current owners could earn up to $2,850 per year in rewards for referring new business to Disney.  This program was discontinued after December 31, 2013.

At the 2010 Condominium Association Meeting, former DVC head Jim Lewis suggested they were developing a new program which would allow current owners to earn unspecified perks or benefits in association with successful referrals.  Lewis was fired in August 2011 and this program has never been mentioned again.
