Disney Vacation Club members have a new location to escape the Florida heat and grab some free snacks while browsing the Disney Springs shopping district.
Back in 2016, DVC owners received their first private lounge located on the second floor of EPCOT's Imagination Pavilion. This was followed by the addition of Star View Station - a Member Lounge at Disneyland in 2023 with another location currently under construction in the Magic Kingdom's Frontierland.
With little fanfare, Disney Vacation Club opened another spot which also acts as a private lounge for DVC owners.
Gateway to Discovery opened at Disney Springs back in March 2024, ostensibly serving as a sales venue to draw in potential DVC buyers. At the time, Disney shared plans to add some unspecified amenities to a second floor location.
That second floor opened on July 16, 2024. Included is a full-size model room of a Two Bedroom villa from Disney's Riviera Resort. This lockoff unit showcases the layout and amenities of both the Deluxe Studio and One Bedroom accommodation. Prospective owners can make an appointment to meet with a DVC sales rep to view the model and discuss the benefits of ownership.
But the space also serves as a lounge for owners. Between the hours of noon - 7pm daily, qualifying owners can stop by Gateway to Discovery to visit the lounge. Similar to the other locations, visitors must be checked-in by a Cast Member. Access to the lounge is dependent upon available capacity. A waiting list may be necessary if the space is running at capacity.
When ready to enter, guests will be escorted to a private elevator which takes them up to the 2nd floor lounge space.
The lounge features a variety of seating, assigned by a Cast Member upon arrival. There is a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine and coffee available, along with a selection of light snacks.
While there, members can freely browse the Riviera model rooms.
The space also features a connected balcony, providing a lovely view of Disney Springs.
The lounge is available Disney Vacation Club owners who qualify for Membership Extras, typically by purchasing at least 150 points direct from DVC. It remains to be seen how popular the lounge will be as word spreads. Those interested in visiting would be wise to stop by early in their Disney Springs visit to inquire about the length of the wait.
