Disney has confirmed plans to begin construction on a new Disney Vacation Club members-only lounge at Walt Disney World in 2024.
Back in December at the 2023 Condominium Associaton Meeting, Disney Vacation Club executives committed to bringing new "community spaces" to owners. Plans became clearer today as the Disney Parks Blog revealed that work will begin on a new member lounge in 2024:
Construction on a brand-new Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge will begin in 2024 at Walt Disney World. This will be a great place for members to relax and recharge during their day of fun!
More details will be shared here on the Disney Parks Blog in the future but we wanted you to be among the first to hear to begin the year.
The brief statement does not give any indication of where the lounge will be located, or if it will actually open to members within the 2024 calendar year.
Mention of the lounge appears on a list of 24 new Disney Experiences planned for 2024. Also on the list are the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, The Cake Bake Shop on Disney's BoardWalk, all day Park Hopping, the reimagined Tiana's Bayou Adventure and more.
The lounge would join the current EPCOT lounge which debuted back in 2016 and Star View Station at Disneyland which began welcoming members in 2023. Top of the World Lounge - A Villain's Lair is also available for nightly fireworks viewing atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort.
Use of these spaces is limited to owners who qualify for Membership Extras, which currently requires a minimum purchase of 150 vacation points direct from Disney Vacation Club unless grandfathered under previous criteria.
