Over the years the Disney Vacation Club member pool hopping perk has been diminished by expansion of the program. Bay Cove Pool at the Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort and pools at Disney's Art of Animation Resort are among the more recent exclusions. So what about the Beach Pool and Courtyard Pool at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa?
According to a Disney Vacation Club spokesperson, there are no plans to remove Grand Floridian's Beach Pool or Courtyard Pool from the list of eligible pool hopping destinations. Members using points or cash to stay at a Walt Disney World DVC resort--or at Disney's Vero Beach Resort--can also utilize most pools at other Walt Disney World resorts.
Excluded pool hopping destinations include:
- Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower
- Uzima Pool and Samawati Springs at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas
- Stormalong Bay and the quiet pool at Disney's Beach Club Villas
- All pools at Disney's Art of Animation Resort

Disney recently revealed plans to construct gates around all of its feature pool complexes. It remains to be seen whether or not these plans will impact the long-term viability of DVC pool hopping privileges.
