Current Disney Vacation Club owners wishing to hear a brief update on their membership--along with a light sales spiel--may want to set aside 30 minutes for the update meeting.
Each day at 2:30pm, Disney's Riviera Resort hosts a half-hour member meeting. It's billed as a member update, though the session is ostensibly designed to promote resorts that are available for purchase.
Interested attendees gather at the lobby DVC podium around 2:25pm and are escorted to a three bedroom Grand Villa located on the 4th floor of the resort.
The meeting is mostly video-driven, currently covering Walt Disney World happenings like Monstropolous at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Tropical America at Disney's Animal Kingdom. However a DVC sales agent is present to highlight several of the timeshare properties and walk through the point costs of different visit scenarios.
Each family is given a folder with some promotional materials and point charts. Additional materials are available which go into greater detail on specific resorts.
These sessions occasionally offer bonus savings for those who purchase while visiting, but that is not always the case. Specific pricing and details are discussed when scheduling a private session with a DVC Guide.
Bottled water and snacks are provided. At the conclusion of the session, attendees are permitted to wander the elaborate Grand Villa. Each family also currently receives the Disney Vacation Club sling bag pictured at the top. Though this incentive is subject to change.
