Disney Vacation Club Condo Meeting 2023 Refurbishment

At the 2023 Condominium Association meeting, DVC reps shared a list of the resorts which are due for updates over the next 2 years. Currently under way are major refurbishments at Disney's BoardWalk Villas and Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. Guest rooms will see wholesale updates to floor coverings, wall coverings, furniture and fixtures. At Hilton Head, not only are all villas being updated but an elevator will be added to one of the resort buildings to improve accessibility.

Also currently under way is a refresh at Disney's Vero Beach Resort, which will bring new decor and linens along with the popular pull-down Murphy Beds.

All three of these projects are expected to be completed in mid 2024.

Later in 2024, the major refurbishment of Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is set to begin. All 281 vacation homes will be fully renovated in a project that is expected to take a full year to complete.

Other resorts due for a full refurbishment in 2025 include both Jambo House and Kidani Village at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, the Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. The Grand Californian project was once targeted for 2024 but has since slipped to 2025.

Lastly, Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is on track for a minor refresh in 2025. This update at Copper Creek will likely include the pull-down beds, along with other minor updates to furnishings and fixtures.

Villa refurbishments are funded by the capital reserves component of Disney Vacation Club member dues. Resorts are generally scheduled for their first refresh approximately 7 years after opening and a major refurbishment at 14 years.
