New legal documents filed by Disney with the Orange County Comptroller confirm that Terri Schultz is now the Senior Vice President of Disney Vacation Development, and by extension the timshare management company known as Disney Vacation Club. Rumors of executive reassignments have lingered for several weeks following an unconfirmed report that Ken Potrock had moved to a new role in Disney Consumer Products.
Schultz has long-term ties to the Disney Vacation Club unit with roles that include Treasurer of the timeshare Associations, DVC Vice President of Finance and Vice President New Vacation Operations & Disney Cruise Line Finance. "New Vacation Operations" was a now defunct umbrella for several ancillary business units including DVC, Adventures by Disney and Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa.
A recent corporate reorganization resulted in these businesses moving to a unit entitled "Disney Signature Experiences." In April it was announced that Jeff Vahle would lead the Disney Signature Experiences group.
The shuffling of Potrock and Schultz comes less than 2 months after Vahle's elevation. Potrock will have served more than 5 years as head of Disney Vacation Club. During his tenure, three new resorts were launched including Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins. Popular member perks debuted during this period including the exclusive lounge at Epcot and the after-hours Moonlight Magic gatherings at a variety of Disney parks.
Prior to his work with DVC, Potrock was a key member of the team that transitioned Walt Disney World's shopping district from Downtown Disney to what we now know as Disney Springs.
Schultz will presumably report to Vahle as Senior VP of the timeshare unit. Disney has not yet issued a formal statement confirming these moves.
