Sales incentives introduced in late June seem to be having a positive affect on direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points. Six DVC resorts had their best sales in calendar year 2024, including four resorts that recorded their best sales in over a year.
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort
In July 2024, 205,898 DVC points were sold for the 12 DVC resorts located at World Disney World and The Villas at Disneyland Hotel. It is the fourth month in a row that direct sales recorded gains over the previous month. This is the first time since October 2023 (221,997 points) that the resorts at Walt Disney World and Disneyland topped the 200,00 point mark.
Disney’s Riviera Resort not only led all resorts in DVC point sales but recorded its best monthly sales total since March 2020. The Villas at Disneyland Hotel eased into second place ahead of Disney’s Old Key West Resort. Old Key West, which had experienced a revival in sales over the previous three months until incentives were reduced in May, saw its sales drop from 60,635 points in June to 26,658 points in July.
In late June, Disney introduced sales incentives for several legacy resorts. Not surprising, several of these resorts saw increases in their sales numbers in July. The last time each resort recorded higher monthly sales is noted in the chart below.
July 2024 Monthly Sales | Best Month Since | |
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas | 6,055 points | June 2023 (9,735 points) |
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort | 3,165 points | March 2023 (3,255 points) |
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins | 2,525 points | October 2023 (6,726 points) |
Disney's Riviera Resort | 109,353 points | March 2020 (153,416 points) |
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort | 14,985 points | June 2021 (16,547 points) |
The Villas at Disneyland Hotel | 35,237 points | August 2023 (51,672 points) |
No sales were recorded for Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. The last time a Polynesian deed was recorded by Orange County Comptroller was on April 5, 2024. It appears Disney has suspended Polynesian sales until it begins selling points for the new Island Tower that is scheduled to open on December 17, 2024.
Several large deeds and large point purchases made in the month of July. The largest single deeds were three 1,000-point deeds for Old Key West and one for The Villas at Disneyland Hotel. The largest multiple deed purchases, all for Old Key West, were 1,500 points split into three 500-point deeds, as well as two 1,000-point purchases that were each split into two 500-point deeds.
Disney’s Riviera Resort — In July, Riviera sold 109,353 points. This is the first time since the start of the global pandemic that Riviera has sold over 100,000 points.
Disney has sold 4,597,547 Riviera points, about 68.2% of the resort’s 6,739,966 total points. If future Riviera sales maintain that pace, it will be about 28 months before the resort is completely sold out.
No Fixed Week deeds were sold for Riviera in July. Disney has sold 123 Fixed Week deeds for the resort with 72 deeds having been sold for the last six weeks of the year.
Disney has declared 269 of the 341 vacation homes for the DVC inventory at Disney’s Riviera Resort. There are still 72 vacation homes that have not yet been declared and are still under the control of Disney. The declared inventory accounts for 5,359,939 points, or 79.5% of the resort’s total points.
Villas at Disneyland Hotel — In July, approximately 35,237 points were sold for Disneyland Hotel, the most since August 2023 when 51,672 points were sold. Disney has sold 738,704 points since sales were first recorded in May 2023, about 22.7% of the resort’s estimated 3,255,992 total points.
The number of points sold for the Disneyland Hotel can only be estimated. The data available from the Orange County (California) Clerk-Recorder’s Office is limited and the exact number of points sold cannot be compiled directly; instead, the number of points can only be estimated based on the Transfer Tax paid on each deed.
The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort — In July, 6,560 points were sold for The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, DVC’s newest location. It marks the third month in a row that sales have increased for the resort. Disney has now sold 42,062 points for The Cabins, which is about 1.5% of the resort’s estimated 2,780,943 total points.
No Fixed Week deeds were sold for the Fort Wilderness in July 2024. To date, six Fixed Week deeds have been sold for the resort.
On April 3, 2024, Disney declared 33 cabins, bringing the number of cabins declared for DVC’s newest resort to 63. DVC members will be able to book using points up to 63 cabins on any given Use Day. There are still another 300 cabins that have not yet been declared. Disney will be able to use these 300 cabins for cash rentals or any other purpose it desires.
The sales data includes all 12 DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, as well as Disney's Vero Beach Resort, and Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. Point sales data is not available for The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. The data is compiled from deeds filed by Disney Vacation Development and recorded with the Orange County (FL) Comptroller, the Indian River County (FL) Clerk of Court, and the Beaufort County (SC) Register of Deeds. Thanks to Chris from dvc.market for assisting in the compilation of the sales data.
