Disney Vacation Club has unveiled some substantial incentives for buyers looking to add points at two Magic Kingdom-area resorts.

DVC's marketing efforts are currently focused on three properties: Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas in Hawai'i, Disney's Riviera Resort and Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. However exercising Right of First Refusal on resale transactions leaves DVC with points at most of the other twelve resorts in the program. These resorts are typically priced high due to the relative scarcity of the points and to steer buyers toward the newer destinations. But occasionally DVC will offer limited time incentives on the older resorts. Such is the case now.
Through March 1, 2023, points for Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort are discounted up to $50 per point for current owners and $42 each for first time buyers.
The base price for Bay Lake Tower points is currently $275 each. The chart below details incentives available for current owners (white) and first-time buyers (blue). The amount of the discount varies depending the size of the purchase.

The Polynesian price rivals DVC's current direct rates for Grand Floridian points. For a 200 point purchase, current owners will pay $201 each for points at the Grand Floridian vs $205 for Polynesian. First-time buyers face a bit larger disparity at 200 points with Grand Floridian going for $210 each vs $223 for the Polynesian.
Ownership for these Polynesian points runs through January 31, 2066.
Disney Vacation Club has announced plans to build a new tower building on the Polynesian grounds. However they have not revealed whether or not the new facility will be part of the existing condominium assocation. If the new rooms are rolled into the current association, existing Polynesian owners will have 11 month booking rights for the new building.
However, if the new tower is placed in a separate condo association, prior Polynesian owners will not be able to book its rooms at 11 months (and vice versa.) This latter configuration would be similar to Boulder Ridge Villas and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins. Both of those DVC condo associations are located at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, however owners' 11-month booking rights are limited to the rooms that they own.
Both resorts are readily available via resale brokers like The Timeshare Store, albeit with some restrictions on usage of the points and qualifications for Membership Magic perks.
Additional closing costs and fees may be required for any direct purchase. DVC reserves the right to modify pricing at any time. This offer is set to expire on March 1, 2023. Supply of points available under this offer may be limited. Contact a Disney Vacation Club sales representative for complete details.
