Riviera Grows More Expensive Under New Incentives

Financial News & Pricing

The latest round of Disney Vacation Club offers yields a modest price increase for Disney's Riviera Resort while two other locations have inched downward.

Disney's Riviera Resort

Today DVC took the wraps off their latest promotional incentives for current members and new buyers. Sales continue to focus on three resorts: Riviera, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas. Riviera and Aulani currently have published rates of $195 per point with the older, nearly "sold-out" Copper Creek at $220.  However, most buyers wil pay less, courtesy of discounts which vary depending upon the size of the point purchase.

As always, discounts vary depending upon the number of points purchased. Following is a sample of some rates currently available when buying direct from DVC:

Current discounts for Riviera are as follows:

New Member Discounts

150-199 points: $5 off per point
200-299 points: $15
300+ points: $20

Existing Member Add-On

100-124 points: $3 off per point
125-149 points: $7
150-199 points: $15
200-299 points: $20
300-499 points: $25
500-999 points: $30
1000+ points: $35

In most scenarios, these discounts are about $3 per point lower than the Riviera incentives which expired on November 4, 2020.

The above discounts are reductions from the stated base rate. A first-time buyer purchasing 200 points at Riviera  would pay a net rate of $180 per point ($195 base -$15 incentive), plus applicable closing costs and other fees.

Meanwhile, improved incentives are offered at Aulani and Copper Creek:

New Member Discounts

150-199 points: $10 off per point
200-299 points: $20
300+ points: $30

Existing Member Add-On

100-124 points: $10 off per point
125-149 points: $15
150-199 points: $20
200-299 points: $25
300-499 points: $35
500-999 points: $40
1000+ points: $50

These new discounts are generally an increase over the recently-ended offers, providing up to $10 per point in added savings.

Note that while the same price reductions apply to both Aulani and Copper Creek, the higher base price of Copper Creek yields a higher net cost. A first-time purchase of 200 points at Aulani would run about $175 per point ($195 base - $20 incentive), while the same 200 points at Copper Creek goes for $200 ($220 base - $20 incentive.)

Modest discounts are available for older resorts like Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows and Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. However, older resorts are saddled with higher base rates including $235 per point for Bay Lake and $245 for Polynesian.  Disney Cast Members and miliary personnel are eligible for additional savings.

Prices are scheduled to run through February 5, 2021  but may change at any time. For complete details or offers on other properties, we recommend contacting a Disney Vacation Club salesperson.
