After a slow month for sales in December 2015, direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points rebounded in January 2016.

Excluding sales for Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas and the Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, 138,731 points were sold in January, which is slightly more than the 137,360 points DVC sales averaged in all of 2015.

DVC Direct Sales - January 2016

Despite the upturn in sales this month, current sales are well below the number of points sold a year ago for the same resorts. 181,213 points were sold in January 2015 as sales for the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa were winding down and sales for Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows were just starting.

Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows — In January 2016, the Polynesian had its best month for sales in its brief 12-month history. 107,615 points were sold for the month, edging out its previous high of 107,067 points that were sold in June 2015. So far, 966,150 points have been sold for the resort, about 24.0% of its 4,032,720 total points.

Based on its first year of sales, it will take about 38 months, or until March 2019, before the Polynesian is completely sold out. Of course, sales tend to vary greatly from month to month, so its difficult to predict future sales based on past history.

On January 25, 2016, Disney Vacation Development declared more Residential Units for the DVC inventory at the Polynesian. 76 studios and 6 bungalows were added, bringing the number of studios and bungalows that can be booked by members using points to 218 and 16, respectively. There are still 142 studios and 4 bungalows that have not yet been declared. In terms of points, 62.88% of resort is now officially part of the Polynesian’s DVC inventory.

The Polynesian’s Guaranteed Week sales continue to creep at a slow pace. 47 Guaranteed Week deeds were sold in February and March 2015, but only 9 such deeds were sold in the last six months, including 3 in January 2016. A total of 85 Guaranteed Week deeds have been sold: 12 for the bungalows; 47 for the Lake View studios; and 26 for the Standard View studios.

Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas — Sales data for Aulani has only been updated through early December 2015. In November 2015, Aulani posted 64,465 points in sales, which is less than the 72,081 points that the resort has been averaging in the prior 12 months.

The sales data includes all nine DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, as well as Disney's Vero Beach Resort, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas. Point sales data is not available for the Villas at Disney's Grand California Hotel. The data is compiled from deeds filed by Disney Vacation Development and recorded with the Orange County (FL) Comptroller, the Indian River County (FL) Clerk of Court, the Beaufort County (SC) Register of Deeds, and the Hawaii Bureau of Conveyances.
