Following slow sales in December, Disney Vacation Club point sales rebounded in January 2014, with 202,117 points sold, an increase of 70.4% over the previous month. Sales for the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa accounted for much of this improvement. Sales for this resort increased from 68,540 points in December '13 to 122,318 points in January '14.
It is not uncommon for sales to fluctuate up or down by more than 25% from one month to the next. In the last 42 months, it has happened 16 times. Nevertheless, an increase of 70.4% is highly unusual. One possible explanation for this large increase might be that in December '13, Disney Vacation Development or the Orange County Comptroller may have delayed filing or recording deeds due to the end-of-year holidays. Thus, December '13 may have been artificially low, thereby inflating the numbers for January '14.

Since sales began in February 2007 for Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, Disney Vacation Development has sold 7,002,889 of the resort's 7.4 million points. The sales data includes all eight DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, as well as Disney's Vero Beach Resort and Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. Point sales data is not available for the Villas at Disney's Grand California Hotel or for Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas. The data is compiled from deeds filed by Disney Vacation Development and recorded with the Orange County (FL) Comptroller, the Indian River County (FL) Clerk of Court, and the Beaufort County (SC) Register of Deeds.
