In September 2013, 175,044 Disney Vacation Club points were sold by Disney Vacation Development. Although it represents a drop of 29.4% compared to the previous month, it is almost right in line with the average monthly sales for the last 12 months.
Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa -- Once again, sales for September '13 were led by the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian and Spa. With 79,829 points sold for the month, the Grand Floridian has now sold 20.7% of its 2.5 million points. Seventeen Fixed Week deeds were sold in September '13, bringing to 144 the number of Fixed Week deeds sold. Not surprisingly, 84 of the 144 Fixed Week deeds are for weeks in November or December.
Disney Vacation Development continues to use the April Use Year as the default Use Year when buyers do not request a specific Use Year. About 39.9% of the points sold for the Grand Floridian are in the April Use Year, making it the most common Use Year at this resort.
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas -- With 74,200 points sold In September '13, Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas was a close second in sales to Disney's Grand Floridian. Disney Vacation Development has sold about 91.9% of the points at this resort, leaving it with about 452,617 points that it can sell to the general public.
Although 100% of Animal Kingdom Villas has been declared for the DVC inventory, there are still 7 out of 326 Units that have not yet been used by Disney Vacation Development to support sales. Thus, these 7 Units do not yet have a Use Year assigned to their points. December is by far the most common Use Year at Animal Kingdom Villas, accounting for 31.9% of the points. The February Use Year is a distant second, accounting for 14.5% of Animal Kingdom Villas points. April, with only 6.3% of the points at this resort, is the least common Use Year.
