In August 2013, direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points dropped 32.2% compared to the previous month. However, Disney Vacation Development still sold 247,997 points in August '13, the second highest monthly total in the last 15 months.
It is not uncommon to see such large fluctuations in monthly sales. August 2013 marks the 14th time in the last 36 months that sales increased or decreased over 25% compared to the previous month. On average, monthly sales have fluctuated about 22.5% from month to month over the last 36 months.

The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa had 130,212 points sold in August '13, a drop of 25.0% compared to July '13, when 226,439 points were sold. Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas was second in sales with 94,260 points sold in the month.
Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa -- With 130,212 points sold in August '13, Disney Vacation Development has now sold 17.6% of the Grand Floridian's total points. In addition to selling 805 deeds for traditional points, 39 Fixed Week deeds were sold in the month. Since sales began, DVD has sold 127 Fixed Week deeds, of which 72 are for weeks in November or December.
So far, April is the most common Use Year at the Grand Floridian. It appears that Disney Vacation Development is offering the April Use Year to new members who do not request a specific Use Year. Over one-third of the points sold have been for the April Use Year.
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas -- Including the 94,260 points sold in August '13, Disney Vacation Development has sold 90.9% of the Animal Kingdom Villas' 7.4 million points. Since DVD cannot sell more than 98% of a resort's total points to the general public, it has about 523,737 points left to sell at this resort.
The sales data includes all eight DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, as well as Disney's Vero Beach Resort and Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. Point sales data is not available for the Villas at Disney's Grand California Hotel or for Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas. The data is compiled from deeds filed by Disney Vacation Development and recorded with the Orange County (FL) Comptroller, the Indian River County (FL) Clerk of Court, and the Beaufort County (SC) Register of Deeds.
