After marketing the 20th anniversary "free points" incentive for nearly six months Disney Vacation Club has finally made some changes to the incentives offered to direct buyers.
The new pricing includes both a reduction in the per-point fee and an additional discount or gift card at certain purchase levels.
Pricing and incentives for both Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas is currently identical. New buyers receive a discount of $5 off the list price of $135 per point for initial buys of 120 or more. Additionally, those purchasing at least 160 points can choose between an additional developer credit of $500 or a Disney Gift Card for the same amount. The credit or Gift Card increases to $1,000 at 320 points purchased.
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is priced at $165 per point with a credit of $5 per point offered with purchases of 120 or more.
Existing Disney Vacation Club members continue to benefit from better incentives for add-on point purchases. Animal Kingdom Villas and Aulani credits are set at $7 per point for current owners for a minimum purchase of 50 points. The $500 credit / Disney Gift Card applies to add-ons of 100 or more and increases to $1,000 with a 200 point purchase.
Bay Lake Tower add-ons are priced at $165 per point with a $7 credit offered for purchases of 50 or more points.
The developer credit / Disney Gift Card offer would seem to give buyers the ability to select between lower monthly payments--if financed and the developer credit is selected--and a one-time gift card reward to help offset vacation expenses. Note that the offer fine print stipulates that principle payments must equal the value of the Disney Gift Card before it will be issued.
