According to an aritcle in the Orlando Sentinel 25,000 Walt Disney World employees are due to receive pay increases this week, with another 4,000 to follow before the end of the year.

The raises for 25,000 members of the Services Trades Council average 4-5%.  Positions covered under this agreement include front desk staff, housekeeping, transportation and character performers.  The increases are stipulated in the 3-year contract negotiated in 2007.

Additionally 4,000 tipped employees will receive raises before the end of 2009.

Cast Member salaries represent a significant portion of the annual dues paid by Disney Vacation Club members.  Expect the salary increases to be reflected in the resort operating budgets for 2010.  Proposed budgets are sent to members in mid-November with annual dues statements following in December.
