In the late-90s and early-00s, Disney Vacation Club operated an incentive program called Magical Beginnings. Magical Beginnings enabled buyers to trade in their first year's DVC points in exchange for a purchase discount of $8-10 per point. Now Magical Beginnings is poised to make a comeback.
DVC is offering buyers at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas a total credit of $15 per point for essentially selling-back their first set of points. A buyer purchasing in 2009 would waive rights to the '09 points in return for the $15 discount at the time of purchase. The first points available for member use would then be in the 2010 Use Year.
Buyers who choose not to take advantage of Magical Beginnings will save $10 per point on purchases at Disney's Animal Kindom Villas. DVC is truly giving buyers a credit of only $5 per point for selling-back that first year's point allocation.
Information given to us specifically mentions Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas as participating in this program. There is no word yet on whether it applies to other resorts such as Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa or the Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel.
