Following the discontinuation of Disney's Magical Express in 2021, two vendors emerged to offer 24/7 round trip transportation between Walt Disney World and Orlando International Airport. Effective August 1, 2023, Mears Connect and the Sunshine Flyer have agreeed to merge into a single entity dubbed Mears Connect Driven by Sunshine

In a statement, Mears Transportation Chief Operating Officer Rebecca K. Horton said that “[b]y merging operations, sharing ideas, expanding services, collaborating on what’s best for the guest, we believe we can provide an even better guest experience given the challenges and opportunities in today’s travel market.” Mears Connect Driven by Sunshine is the only 24-hour shuttle servicing the A/B and C terminals at Orlando International, offering both wheelchair-accessible and ADA compliant vehicles.

Both Mears Connect and Sunshine Fiyer rose to fill the void left by the ending of Disney's Magical Express on December 31, 2021. For more than 15 years, Mears was subcontracted to manage most transportation services related to Disney's Magical Express
