Fewer people will be forced to use Disney's Park Pass system in 2024 as Disney promises to make changes to Genie+.

Beginning on January 9, 2024, guests with date-based tickets will no longer be required to make separate Park Pass reservations over the course of their visit. Magic Your Way passes and other tickets with explicit redemption dates will be valid for entry to any Walt Disney World theme park without making reservations.

Annual Passholders will benefit from "Good-to-go" days when no reservations are required. This is similar to Disney's current Annual Passholder "bonus days", however "Good-to-go" days will eliminate the need to make reservations altogether. Additional details regarding this new benefit will be shared later in the year.

Annual Passholders already benefit from a recent change which allows them to enter any theme park after 2pm with no reservations, except for Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays.

Meanwhile, Disney has apparently heard guest complaints about certain aspects of the Genie+ ride reservation system and is looking into changes:

We have heard from guests that they would like ways to plan with Disney Genie+ service and individual Lightning Lane selections before the day of their park visit, and we want you to know we are working on ways guests may do this for visits in 2024. Our goal is to give you the opportunity to spend less time planning in the park and more time enjoying your visit with friends and family. While we are not yet able to share specific details, we look forward to sharing more information at a later date.

Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane selections currently go on sale at 7:00 am daily, forcing guests to awaken early if they wish to effectively utilize these products. This was a stark change from Disney's FastPass+ service which allowed guests to reserve up to 3 ride times per day up to 60 days in advance.
