Beginning Sunday, October 15, 2017 four Walt Disney World resorts will welcome guests' dogs in hotel rooms.
A new offering at select Walt Disney World resorts allows guests to host up to 2 dogs in their hotel room throughout their stay. Resorts included in this trial program are Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Cabins at Disney’s Ft. Wilderness Resort.
Upon arrival guests will receive Pluto’s Welcome Kit which includes a mat, bowls, a pet ID tag, courtesy plastic disposable bags, puppy pads and dog walking maps. A Pluto “Do Not Disturb” door hanger is also included, indicating to hotel staff that a pet is in the room.
Outdoor pet exercise areas and "pet relief areas" will be established at each resort. Dogs must have their vaccinations up to date, leashed in public areas and well-behaved both in guest rooms and in public.
Room cleaning fees will be charged to all guests who bring their dogs. The fee is $75 per day for guests staying at Disney's Yacht Club and $50 per day for all other supported locations.
In September, Walt Disney World allowed Hurricane Irma evacuees to bring pets into its hotel rooms and villas.
None of the Disney Vacation Club resorts are part of this initial pet friendly initiative, however all 4 of the pilot resorts can be booked using DVC points.
