First park-wide test of FastPass+ begins today

WDW Vacation Planning News

Starting today, every guest walking into Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park will have access to the FastPass+ reservation system.

Website WDWMagic.com is reporting that Disney will begin testing a parkwide rollout of its FastPass+ system on December 18, 2013 at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

During the tests, offsite guests will be granted access to the FastPass+ system for the first time.  However, they will not be able to secure ride reservations ahead of time using the My Disney Experience application.  Offsite guests must use the FastPass+ kiosks located inside the park to schedule their ride times.

The legacy FastPASS machines--those issuing paper tickets--will not be operational during the test.  All guests will be granted a total of three FastPass+ selections per day.

Upon full roll-out of the FastPass+ product, Disney plans to discontinue use of the legacy FastPASS system.

MagicBands will not be available to offsite guests at this time.  Disney has been testing the MagicBandsMy Disney Experience app and FastPass+ products with guests at its resort hotels since October.

MagicBands are provided to Disney resort guests at no additional charge.  Disney does plan to eventually make MagicBands available for purchase by offisite guests.
