Early last week Disney announced that the inaugural cruise of the Disney Fantasy has been moved up a week from April 7, 2012 to March 31, 2012.
Disney has arranged to take possession of the new cruise ship a week earlier than planned. As a result of the change, Disney Cruise Line is currently contacting all parties booked on the April 7 sailing and giving them the option of changing to March 31 with no penalties. One Disney Vacation Club member who contacted us received a call from Member Services around 5pm on December 27 to discuss the date change. DVC members booked on points are also being given the opportunity to change their reservation at no additional cost.
The Disney Fantasy is scheduled to run 7-day cruise itineraries out of Port Canaveral, taking over the routes currently serviced by the Disney Magic. The itineraries typically alternate between Eastern Caribbean and Western Caribbean routes. However, due to this schedule change, both the March 31 and April 7 trips will follow the Western Caribbean itinerary.
Members currently booked on the April 7, 2012 sailing who have not heard from a Disney Vacation Club representative may wish to contact Member Services to discuss options available.
