Since its introduction, millions of Walt Disney World guests have utlizied Disney's Magical Express for free round-trip transportation to Orlando International Airport.  Combined with the complimentary bus / boat / monorail transportation offered at all Disney resorts, there really is no need to drive at all during a Florida Disney vacation.

Nevertheless, some guests still chose to obtain their own transportation while others simply drive all the way to Lake Buena Vista and use their own vehicle throughout their stay.

As demonstrated in our retrospective, 2009 was an eventful year for Disney Vacation Club members.  Four new resorts joined the program.  The point reallocation hurt some members while helping others.  Perks were added and perks were removed.  Prices fluctuated greatly in a sluggish economy.  Some resorts were renovated or had new features added while others were left waiting.

As 2009 draws to a close it is time to reflect back upon the year.  Members often claim that Disney Vacation Club ownership has facilitated many vacation memories which would not have been possible otherwise.

Perhaps it's the ability to book a large villa for a family reunion, a Disney cruise booked on points, or simply the ability to visit one of the DVC resorts more often that would have been possible as a cash-paying guest.

Each of the Walt Disney World resorts receives unique decorations for the holiday season.  Annual staples range from grand displays like the life-sized gingerbread house at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort to more sublime features such as the Mickey Mouse silhouette beside the Contemporary Resort.
