Disney Vacation Club typically offers its owners at least one exclusive cruise experience per year.  The cruises are often priced higher than a comparable cruise of the same dates and duration, with members treated to exclusive gifts and special guests not found on a typical DCL sailing.  Unfortunately these special perks are never disclosed prior to booking, making it something of a crapshoot at the time owners must commit to the trip.

It was once known as the Disney Institute--Michael Eisner's attempt to merge Disney travel and adult education programs.  But as a tourism slump plagued Walt Disney World in the early part of this century, Disney Vacation Club was brought in to rejuvinate the lagging property.  Despite being the only DVC resort with an integrated golf clubhouse, two feature pools, extensive spa facilities and easy access to Disney Springs, Saratoga Springs is not always viewed as a favorite among members.

In the minds of some, it's the undisputed king of Walt Disney World resorts.  Between the appealing beach theme, elaborate Stormalong Bay pool complex and its proximity to Epcot, there's a lot to like about Disney's Beach Club Villas.  But it can't be perfect, right?

Rather than building new hotel / timeshare properties at Walt Disney World, the Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge started a pattern of Disney Vacation Club expansions to existing resorts.  The resort itself opened in 1994 with the DVC wing debuting in late 2000.  For many years, Wilderness Lodge was the closest thing DVC owners would have to a Magic Kingdom destination.

Disney Vacation Club has launched some rather impressive perks in 2016, ostensibly to recognize the timeshare program's 25th anniversary.  Among the most noteworthy are the exclusive member lounge in Epcot and the private after-hours events at the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Typhoon Lagoon.

However, some members have been critical of these exclusives.  Complaints range from the lounge being "boring" and "a waste of time" to the limited number of dates for the after-hours events.
