As you may have noticed, DVCNews.com has gone through a few changes the last few days. Here's an update on where things stand today.
We spent the last 3 days taking care of some long overdue software updates. The changes are not simply cosmetic--the core software at the heart of the site has been updated to the latest version.
As of Sunday night, the site is about 95% functional. The main things which still need to be addressed are:
- FAQs - The old FAQ module isn't compatible with newer core software so we need to find a replacement and convert the old content.
- RoomFinder databases - Unfortunately they need to be manually migrated from the old site to new. No data will be lost but it will take time.
- Links between the core website and discussion forums which allow for article commenting.
Those are the major issues. There may be some other little glitches to be ironed out along the way. By all appearances the weekly newsletter is set to be mailed Monday morning, but we'll see if it happens smoothly or not.
In the meantime we do appreciate your patience. With a few more late nights, hopefully we'll be back at 100% in a few more days.
