Guests staying at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa in the summer of 2024 will be happy to hear the resort offers a pleasant front row seat for the new Disney Springs drone show.
Disney Springs is currently playing host to a new nighttime spectacular as 800 drones recreate some of the more memorable characters and scenes throughout Disney lore. 'Disney Dreams That Soar' is performed on the West Side, where a limited section of waterfront viewing space is freely available to all Disney Springs guests wishing to view.
Those staying at Saratoga Springs--particularly at villas in the Congress Park section--need not make their way across to Disney Springs to view. As shown in the clip below, the show is easily visible from waterfront areas of Saratoga Springs. However, there are several issues to be aware of. First, the images are effectively reversed since guests will be viewing from the opposite direction. This isn't particularly impactful, aside from the title images where the lettering is entirely backward.
Also, there is no audio presentation piped into either guest rooms or the shoreline at Saratoga Springs. Some of the audio may carry across the lagoon, though ability to hear depends greatly on cooperation of fellow guests watching from the shore. One possible solution would be to separately stream the audio track or a full YouTube video to headphones while watching the live performance.
Crowd levels may be unpredictable. The show is currently scheduled for two nightly performances at 9:00pm and 10:45pm. The early show is already drawing a bit of attention, while the later performance seems to be more sparsely attended. Like other Disney resorts, Saratoga Springs does not limit access to only registered guests. Should the West Side viewing area continue to reach capacity for shows, guests could venture over to Saratoga Springs in greater numbers.
Check out our video above for a preview of the show featuring content from 'Star Wars', 'Wall-E' and 'Big Hero 6.' Performances of "Disney Dreams That Soar" are currently scheduled to continue through September 2, 2024.
