Disney's Riviera Resort

With just ten days remaining before its official debut, Greg from That Park Life Podcast provides us with a first-hand look at the newest Disney Vacation Club destination.

Disney's Riviera Resort

When I heard I had the chance to stay at Disney's Riviera Resort before it officially opened, I was more than thrilled. This is mainly because I've seen the advertisements, visited the model rooms at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and heard all the hype about this brand new Disney Vacation Club resort. Now that I've stayed there, I can honestly say: believe the hype.

The resort is big, beautiful and bold. When we entered the lobby we were met by a smiling Cast Member saying "Bonjour" who helped finalize our check-in without a walk to the front desk, thanks to her tablet.

The lobby is small. It's also very welcoming, cozy and well-appointed. The couches were comfy. The light fixture of interlinked circles was fun to look at. The room was also well-lit thanks to the back wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, through which we could see the Skyliner cabins flying by. And of course, we could see Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, which acts as a nice background.

The resort is split into an East and West side, each with its own set of elevators. As you wait for an elevator, look down at the carpet. How many hidden characters can you spot?

The hallways are bright and filled with art. Even the laundry room on the 4th floor was fancy!

In terms of pathways, there is one area at the Riviera that steals the show. The walkway to Disney's Skyliner includes a hallway with arched walls that features two murals. These beautiful works of art decorate the walls on both sides of the tunnel, merging at the ceiling 20' above. They feature artwork inspired by the animated films 'Peter Pan' and 'Tangled'. The murals are a must-see, day or night.

Overall, without even mentioning our awesome One Bedroom Villa, the dining experiences, or the views this resort offers, I am so grateful to have stayed here. The lobby and other common areas alone showcase just how deluxe this new resort is.
