Disney Vacation Club has revealed the opening date for Disney's Riviera Resort, along with the dates on which both owners and non-owners can begin making reservations for future stays.
Disney's Riviera Resort will open to guests on Monday, December 16, 2019. This grand opening date places the resort's debut barely within the publicized "fall 2019" timeframe.
Early buyers at Riviera can begin making reservations on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. Reservations made using Riviera points will be subject to the normal 11 month booking window, meaning owners will initially have access to check-in dates from December 16 through March 10, 2020.
Points are currently on sale for existing owners wishing to add to their membership. New buyers will not be able to purchase Riviera points until April 15, five days after reservations open. This timing gives existing DVC owners a siginificant advantage booking stays in late-2019 and early-2020.
Non-owners can begin booking May 16, 2019 subject to the 7 month guideline. This May 16th date is exactly 7 months prior to the scheduled resort opening in December.
Other late-2019 openings planned for Walt Disney World include Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios on August 29 and the Disney Skyliner transportation system whose opening is TBD.
