The outdoor bar at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort will be closed for at least a couple months in spring 2026 for refurbishment.
Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace is currently closed for refurbishment. The closure impacts only the oudoor patio, not the indoor Trader Sam's Grog Grotto.
The exact length of the refurbishment is not currently known. No hours are posted on the Disney Dining website through mid-June. A message on the lounge's information page reads:

The closure is likely part of a more substantial upgrade currently under way at the resort's Great Ceremonial House. The rear part of the building has been covered in scaffolding for several weeks as crews repair and update the structure. The lounge may reopen sooner than mid-June if repair progress allows.
This comes just days after receiving word that the resort's boat dock will close for several weeks in May and June 2026. Work is also under way to update the resort bus depots following a reconfiguration of the entire vehicle traffic flow.
