Today marks the official start of sales for the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. As points are purchased, new owners will be able to make their first reservations almost immediately but non-owners will have to wait a little longer than usual.
The Grand Floridian villas are scheduled to open to guests on Wednesday, October 23, 2013--five months from today. Disney Vacation Club has established some unique reservation timeframes in order to give owners the opportunity to make reservations ahead of non-owners. Guidelines are as follows:
- Owners at the Grand Floridian can make reservations eleven months in advance of arrival for all dates beginning October 23, 2013.
- Other Disney Vacation Club members (non-owners) can make reservations four months in advance of arrival for dates between October 23 and December 31, 2013.
- Other DVC members (non-owners) can make reservations seven months prior to arrival for all dates on or after January 1, 2014.
The earliest date on which a non-owner can attempt to make any reservation at the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is June 23, 2013.
Disney Vacation Club anticipates having reservation capabilities available via both DVCMember.com and Member Services at 9:00am (eastern) on Thursday, May 23.
Purchases at the Grand Floridian must be processed and points added to owners accounts. As such, early buyers may not find their points available for reservations until later in the day. Contact Disney Vacation Club Member Services for questions or reservation assistance.
UPDATE: Our original report stated that non-owners at the Grand Floridian could begin booking arrival dates on or after January 1, 2014 as of June 1, 2013--seven months prior to arrival. This was consistent with the policy provided to DVCNews.com by a Disney Vacation Club spokesperson. However, DVC later added a clause indicating that non-owners cannot book any reservations until June 23, 2013. This seems designed to fulfill the contractual obligation which allows owners at least one month priority for Home resort bookings.
