For months Disney's Grand Floridian Resort has been impacted--to varying degrees--by construction work on the forthcoming Disney Vacation Club villas. Now it seems the situation will continue to get worse before it gets better.
Shopping, dining and recreation areas throughout the resort will experience closures throughout the remainder of 2012. The current schedule is as follows:
Main courtyard pool: Closed August 24, 2012 until approximately December 2012
Significant work is scheduled for the main pool including the addition of a zero entry area. During the closure the Beach Pool will remain open to guests.
Sandy Cove gift shop: Closed August 24, 2012 until approximately December 2012
Restaurant closures:
- Narcoosee's: Closed July 9 through July 22, 2012
- Citricos: Closed July 23 through August 4, 2012
- Beach Pool Bar: currently closed through August 24, 2012
- Mizner's Lounge: Closed July 9 through July 14, 2012
- Gasparilla Grill quick service: Closed August 24, 2012 until approximately December 2012
During the Gasparilla Grill closure, guests will find quick service food available at Mizner's Lounge and the Beach Pool Bar.
