Upcoming visitors to Disney’s Beach Club Villas and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas may wish to take note of modifications to area boat transportation and maintenance work being performed in the area.
As previously reported, Friendship boat service on Crescent Lake is currently disrupted due to maintenance on one of the nearby bridges. Boats still make the rounds between Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, BoardWalk, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts and Epcot. However, service to Disney’s Hollywood Studios is currently not provided.
The route restriction began on May 7, 2018 and was expected to last about 6 weeks. Resort Cast Members could not confirm exactly when the Hollywood Studios route would be reinstated.
While the water launch service is restricted, all impacted resorts are supplying bus service to Hollywood Studios. The walking path also remains open.
Meanwhile Disney’s Beach Club is currently undergoing exterior maintenance, specifically siding repair and painting. Work is not being performed on the Disney Vacation Club villa units, however visual disruptions in the area are quite apparent.
At present, crews are working in many areas which line the rear of the resort along Crescent Lake including the Beach Club resort entry/exit courtyard & near the volleyball court (above) as well as the hotel’s Beach Pool (below)—not to be confused with the villas’ Dunes Pool which is not impacted.
No word on how long the exterior refurbishment projects will last.
