In conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World, California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort is unveiling a limited time menu with several nostaligic specialties.
The California Grill dining room has been a fixture at Walt Disney World since its opening back in 1971. Originally dubbed "Top of the World", the 15th floor space was home to a variety of performers and dinner shows. It was transformed into the current California Grill in 1995 and continues to attract diners via a combination of high-end cuisine and spectacular views of the Magic Kingdom's firework displays.
Beginning October 3, 2021, California Grill will offer diners a 3-course menu, including a number of throwback items featured during the restaurant's illustrious history. "The World's Most Magical Celebration."
Priced at $89 per adult and $39 per child (age 3-9), the fixed menu offers one appetizer, one entree and one dessert per diner. Among the unique anniversary selections are:
- Lobster and Parsnip Bisque (Lobster, Champagne, Creme Fraiche, Parnip Crisp)
- House-Made Artisinal-Style Duck A L'Orange Pizza (Duck Prosciutto and Confit, Pickled Shallots, Orange-Black Mission Fig Jam, Aged Blue Cheese, Arugula)
- Oak-Fired Fillet of Beef (Black Truffle-Brown Butter Chateau Potatoes, Golden Raisins Vinaigrette, Cauliflower, Roasted Tomato Butter)
- Free-Range Plancha-Seared Chicken (Sunchoke Variations, Confit-studded Mousseline, Pearl Onions, Foraged Mushrooms, Madeira Sauce)
- Five Magical Bites 50 Years in the Making (Honey, Lemon, Carrot, Strawberry, Chocolate)

The three course menu begins on October 3. Dining reservations will open via the Disney website and app beginning on September 23, 2021.
